If you thought tapes can’t be used as hangers, think again! Japanese designers, Torafu Architects have created cute little hooks that look exactly like pieces of curled adhesive tape! Available in a variety of gummy colors, the Tapehooks were originally manufactured for the Paper Tools Exhibition in Japan. A number of remarkable gadgets that were made entirely from processed paper were displayed in that exhibition. We never thought that mere paper can make a diversified range of useful tools!
The Tapehook is made by soaking the tape-like paper in a solution, curling its end, then allowing it to dry in position. Once dried, the processed paper has enough strength to hold small objects like keys, necklaces, sun glasses and other light weight objects. You can easily stick in to your wall and hang things around! Looking like cut-out tape, these colorful paper hooks look quite exquisite and can create a sense of wonder in anyone.
We bet many of your friends will exclaim, “How did that flimsy piece of tape hold your heavy bunch of keys?” But sadly, these hip hooks are currently available only in Japan and nowhere else. So the next time you hear someone going there, ask them to bring a stock for us too!
